THE NEED FOR FINANCE IN THE EDUCATION OF THE CHILD
Education is that part of life that constitutes the process of individual (human) development. Before schools were instituted, people were educated to a life and work through the customs and traditions of their tribe.
Today, however much of our learning comes from contact with people objects and events around, within and outside us (As the world has electronically turned to a global village)
Parents, schools and society at large, should provide the kind of environment, physical and psychological, best suited to the developmental needs of their children.
The constitution of the Child’s physical environment include the type of home, the type of school buildings, the type of classrooms and furniture, the books, the playgrounds, computers and other equipment that enhance teaching / learning.
The child’s psychological environment consists of all the relationships which a child establishes with his work, his parents, his siblings, his fellow pupils, and his teachers, among others.
It is a combination of the psycho-physical environments that greatly influence the Child’s future mental, social, emotional and educational developments.
Since, as the saying goes, money makes the milk good and in tune with the popular saying;
Education is great and interesting…But facilitated of your parents are wealthy, the provision of educational facilities and to the desired and acceptably quality, is highly capital intensive.
Surely, a child is not likely to learn properly when.
(i)                   The learning environment is crowded, dark, poorly Ventilated, with uncomfortable sitting condition (wrong size of desk e.g.
(ii)                 The textbooks, exercise books and other materials needed are not made available or he has to share with other children.
(iii)                The child is hungry, tired, sick or emotionally disturbed.
In the nursery and primary stage for example, the child is expected to acquire the skill of writing, reading, Language development, painting country, modeling, dancing, music, arts and crafts games among others.
 At higher levels such as trade schools, secondary schools, polytechnics e.g. more and diversified skills are introduced without adequate financial provisions. Therefore, learning will be greatly impaired, and all other things being equal, it is expected that the quantity and quality of the financial provisions to a child’s quality and quantity of his educational attainment.
